Day 1 - Your Elemento Natural Adventuer Begins

Our guide will meet you at the airport and welcomes you to Costa Rica. He will give you a little briefing, while escorting you to the hotel, and help you check-in.

Day 2 - San Jose / Poas Volcano N.P. / San Jose

Early in the morning depart across the rural part of the valley, drive through coffee plantations, this is a great opportunity to get to know this exquisite beverage, and to have a real Costa Rican coffee in the morning. Continue to Poás Volcano National Park, an enormous active crater with a sulfur lake and fumaroles, located at some 9 thousand above sea level, consider as one of the biggest and most enchanting craters of the world. Poás is also surrounded by tropical montane cloud forest. You will return to the capital city and explore some of the best places in town, like the National Theatre, The Pre-Columbian Gold Museum, and the Mercado Central.

Day 3 - San Jose / Rafting / Cahuita N.P.

Early in the morning departure towards the Caribbean lowlands, and just twenty minutes after leaving San Jose you will drive for around half an hour into the Braulio Carrillo National Park, one of the largest and most diverse parks in the country, as you descend into the lowlands, one can see the transition between the Cloud and the Rain Forest. Breakfast will be taken on a restaurant on the way. At mid morning you'll arrive at Pacuare River (one of the top 5 rivers for rafting in the world), and after a safety talk, you will get on the equipment and commence your river adventure at the fascinating lush of the rain forest. After the river adventure, you will have lunch and continue to the beach, to Cahuita National Park, have dinner in town.

Day 4 - Cahuita National Park

Today you have the entire day to enjoy what the Caribbean has to offer, discover the afro-caribbean culture of Costa Rica, enjoy its food and music. Morning hike into the rain forest of the park: you will get delighted with its turquoise sea, palm trees and gold sand beaches. As optional activities for the afternoon you could rent a bike to visit the nearby town of Puerto Viejo, take surfing lessons or go snorkeling at the coral reef.

Day 5 - Cahuita N.P. / Tortuguero Canals

Today you will leave the south: the north coasts with its fascinating canals of Tortuguero, considered the Costa Rican Amazon, are today's destination as you head into banana country. You will be met by a boat to take you up to this national park with its extensive system of canals, and it will take you to the lodge where you will spend the night. Your guide will give you detailed explanations of this complex Eco-system. Miles of untouched Caribbean beaches also offer plenty of opportunities to see (when in season) the nesting of the green turtle, the world's second largest sea turtle. You will make a visit to the town and the museum of the green turtle in the afternoon.

Day 6 - Tortuguero National Park

Another full day to explore the Tortuguero area: morning hike at Tortuguero Hill and afternoon floating trip on the canals are a great opportunity to see a big variety of birds, reptiles, monkeys, and butterflies. When on season (Aug. to Nov.) there is an optional night tour to see this famous four feet turtle laying eggs on the beach.

Day 7 - Tortuguero / Arenal Volcano

After breakfast you will head today to the northern planes of San Carlos. Once we get to Arenal National Park. We will then head to Tabacón Hot Springs, a wonderful place of thermal water pools, waterfalls and rivers, surrounded by exotic gardens and tropical vegetation that you can enjoy while having a refreshing tropical fruit juice and admire, from a distance, the beauty and power of Arenal Volcano, one of the world's most active volcano, with it's occasional stromboly type eruptions, and the lava flows that at night become a pyrotechnical show.

Day 8 - Arenal Volcano / Rincon de la Vieja Volcano

After a morning hike into the National Park, to see an ancient lava flow, you will get back on the road to drive around Lake Arenal, a man-made reservoir that has one of the country most important hydroelectric plants. Today you will see three different eco-systems as you leave the rain forest behind, drive across the mountains in order to get to the dry forest on the Pacific side, and drive north to meet the cloud forest at Rincon de la Vieja National Park. We will get installed and hike at Las Pailas trail, where you will have the chance to see some secondary activity, such as small craters, fumaroles, boiling mud, and geysers.

Day 9 - Rincon de la Vieja Volcano National Park

Today you have the option (if clear) of hiking up to the crater (around 7 hours) or to La Cangreja Waterfall, a 25 feet fall that comes out of a canyon and drops into a turquoise pool where you can swim, and enjoy the beautiful and quiet surroundings.

Day 10 - Rincon de la Vieja Volcano N.P. / Manuel Antonio N.P.

You will experience some more adventure this morning as you get on the canopy tour (Tarzan swings and zip lines through the tree tops) at the beautiful Río Blanco Canyon. After this adrenaline rush you will head to the South Pacific; in route there is an optional stop at Carara National Park & Biological Reserve (transition between dry and rain forest). A unique opportunity to see rare wood species as well as crocodiles, scarlet macaws, and others. After this visit, you will continue towards the port of Quepos and check in at the hotel.

Day 11 - Manuel Antonio National Park

Today you will enjoy the magic of a rain forest right at beach side, a beautiful white sand beach! A great variety of wildlife can be seen at this park, famous for the white face cappuccino monkeys and its gorgeous white sand beaches. Optional afternoon tours to the mangrove areas of Damas Island, go waterfall rappelling further south, or take a Pacific Sunset Cruise to see dolphins.

Day 12- Manuel Antonio N.P. / San Gerardo

Early in the morning return to the Central Valley, coming from sea level and passing by the highest peaks in the country, up to 3000 meters above sea level. En route we can see the changes on the vegetation, form tropical rain forest up to subalpine paramo, before we get to San Gerardo de Dota, known by birdwatchers to be the best place to spot the most beautiful of American birds, The Resplendissant Quetzal.

Day 13 - San Gerardo / Irazu Volcano / San Jose

Early in the morning research of the Quetzal, after breakfast continue to the old colonial capital of the country, the city of Cartago, where we will visit the Basilica of the Patron Saint of Costa Rica, The Virgin of los Angeles. Then we’ll climb up to the top of Irazu Volcano and its crater. Return to San Jose and have a farewell dinner at night.

Day 14 - Unfortunately you have to get back

Farewell to Costa Rica. Transfer out to Juan Santamaría International Airport, say good bye to your new friends, and….

Being your TOUR COMPLETELY PERSONALIZED it is important to know that the price of your program cannot be known in advance, and it’s going to depend n the quality of services and the time of your expedition, however, for you to prepare a budget and based on our experience you can estimated according to this:

- US$ 90 and US$ 150 per day of excursion

Including: Private transportation with A/C for the group San José- San José according to the program. Lodging in 2 or 3 star hotels for the amount of nights specified in the program, no extras, all breakfast included in the hotels. Entrance fee to national parks and other programmed visits: visit to national parks, active volcanoes with different types of activity (main crater, eruptions and lava flows, secondary geothermal activity: mini geysers, fumaroles, mini volcanoes, boiling mud, hot springs, and steam). Pacific and Caribbean beaches, other visits and all the flora & fauna of the different ecosystems: Tropical Rain Forest, Dry Forest from the Pacific, Cloud Forest, Mangrove vegetation, beach vegetation, Subalpine Paramo, and of course all the natural lush & some Peace living people in COSTA RICA… No Artificial Ingredients !!!
