Elemento Natural
Roberto y Alonso studied in the “Liceo Franco Costarricense” until 1991. In college they both went their own way, one on the tourism area, the other in the industrial engineering area. But in 2003 they decided to come together again and merge their common interests in traveling, camping and their love for nature in this Project they called Elemento Natural; in its name they recall the importance of the elements Mother Nature grants us, and that each one of you will be able to enjoy during our tours: Earth, Fire, Water, Air.

Ecotourism can be defined as the responsible travel to nature while conserving the environment and improving the welfare of local people and communities. Although the definitions are many, they have to meet at least three criteria:
- It provides for conservation measures; by decreasing the impact of the tour, improving the participants education in environmental topics or supporting eco-related causes or organizations
- It includes meaningful community participation: by using local goods or services
- It is profitable and can be self sustainable.
Although in Latin America anything and everything "Eco" boomed in the 1990s and the term is used to market anything related to nature or environmental tourism, ELEMENTO NATURAL has adopted this philosophy and therefore we are an authentic eco-tourism company.
With the accelerated increase in tourism in Costa Rica, and the decreasing existence of our natural resources, diminished by the human activity, it becomes more important than ever to minimize the print we leave behind when we travel and visit Mother Nature. Even though what Costa Rica has to offer is its natural resources, most of the itineraries that are offered today by tourism companies include a maximum of 2 hours per day in National Parks and the rest of the time is spent out of the protected areas.
That is the reason why ELEMENTO NATURAL offers a unique alternative for those who really want to enjoy Costa Rican ecosystems 100% naturally, spending most of the days into the conservation areas: camping and natural adventure is our best way to enjoy wilderness and minimize our print at the same time!
Costa Rica, no artificial ingredients!
Here are some practices that we have adopted, and that can be used no matter where you go, so you can help the ecology anywhere in the world:
UpOur 10 healthy tips for eco-tourism

3.Make an educational experience out of your tourism activities: think and learn.

7.Minimize your waste: reuse and recycle every time!
8.Minimize the use of your car: use public transportation, your bike or your legs as often as you can.
9.Support the local business when you travel: buy their products, try their food, learn their culture!
10.Tell this to your friends: if you like it, preach it!
